Apideck alternatives for unified agent APIs in 2026
Apideck bills per active consumer and unifies jobs and applicants. Greenhouse applications are unsupported. Call the provider when the agent needs that field.
Key takeaways
- -In this article we explore Apideck alternatives when the unified ATS model does not include the field the agent needs.
- -To understand how Apideck pricing works: Launch is $599 a month for 25 consumers and one category. Scale at 100 consumers is $1,299 a month.
- -Apideck marks Greenhouse and Lever applications as not supported. Pass-through does not create that resource.
- -If swy search does not return the ATS, do not invent a method ID.
The recruiter asks the agent for a candidate's application stage in Greenhouse. The unified call returns jobs and applicants. Apideck's Greenhouse connector lists the applications resource as not supported. The stage the recruiter asked for is not in the payload.
This post shows what Apideck's consumer price includes, and what to do when the agent needs a field the unified model left out.
What the consumer price includes
Apideck bills an active consumer: a customer whose connected account made at least one API call or webhook that month. Connectors under that consumer are not a separate fee. The October 2026 pricing table lists:
| Consumers | Plan | Monthly price | Categories |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25 | Launch | $599 | 1 |
| 100 | Scale | $1,299 | 3 |
| 500 | Scale | $4,250 | 3 |
| 500 and above | Enterprise | Custom annual | Unlimited |
Launch at 25 consumers is $23.96 each. Scale at 500 is $8.50 each. Yearly billing on that page takes 10 percent off. Their pricing write-up says API calls are unlimited on this consumer model, and that an API-call meter is available on request.
Scale adds custom field mapping and data scopes. Enterprise adds sandboxes, SSO, a white-label Vault, and configurable log retention. The Launch column does not include those.
This price fits a product with many customer tenants and a stable read model. One internal agent against your own Greenhouse is a single consumer. You would still be on a plan built for a category of integrations, not for one odd field.
Where one schema is enough
Use Apideck when the product needs the same HRIS or ATS reads for every customer, and the unified resources match the screen you are building.
Jobs and applicants cover a directory, a title, and a person. Data scopes on Scale limit which of those fields leave the vault. Unified APIs for B2B SaaS puts this next to other common-model vendors. One credential per customer is the other half, because each consumer still has to sign in.
Stay on that path for the directory. Step off it when the screen, or the agent, needs a resource the connector page marks unsupported.
The field the unified model leaves out
Apideck's ATS API is jobs, applicants, and applications. On the Greenhouse resource page, jobs map to job posts and applicants map to candidates, both live. Applications are marked not supported. The Lever resource page says the same for applications.
The jobs reference includes a pass_through query for unmapped downstream parameters, and a raw flag for debugging. That helps when the unified job is close and you need one extra query parameter. It does not create the applications resource the connector says it does not support.
So the agent cannot "try a different field name" and get application stage from this connector. The resource is absent. Asking the model to guess a Greenhouse path inside the unified URL will not add it.
Two moves work.
Use pass-through only for a parameter on a resource that is already live. Confirm the parameter in Apideck's resource page, not in a prompt.
Call the provider method yourself when the resource is missing. Swytchcode's role is that call. swy search finds a registry bundle. swy get downloads it. swy list methods shows IDs. You add the one that returns the stage, and you do not add the one that moves the stage. policies.json blocks a write before Greenhouse sees it. Policy as code is the longer version of that file. On the October 2026 pricing page, Free includes allow and deny for 100 live commands a month. You do not need the $599 category plan to read one live field on your own account.
Call the method you named
Follow this step to install the CLI. Use one of these.
npm install -g swytchcodeirm https://cli.swytchcode.com/install.ps1 | iexcurl -fsSL https://cli.swytchcode.com/install.sh | shConfirm the install, then start the project.
swy --version
swy initSearch for Greenhouse, or the ATS you actually use. If nothing returns, stop. Do not invent an ID. Download the printed name, list the methods, read the one you want, and add that ID only. A stage-change method should not slip through as a retry of the read.
swy search greenhouse
swy get <name from search>
swy list methods
swy info <canonical_id from swy list methods>
swy add <canonical_id from swy list methods>Connect the provider. There is no .env file in this project. Swytchcode keeps credentials in its own local store and reads them when a call runs.
swy auth connect <provider>
swy policy validateKeep Apideck for the unified jobs and applicants your product already sells. When the agent needs the application resource this connector does not support, call the method you enabled and block the write next to it.

FAQ
Does Apideck charge per API call on Launch?
The public Launch and Scale plans charge per active consumer, and Apideck's pricing article says those plans do not meter API calls. An API-call price exists on request. Confirm which contract you signed before you let an agent loop.
Can pass_through read Greenhouse application stage?
Not on a resource the connector marks unsupported. Pass-through sends extra query parameters to a live downstream call. Greenhouse applications are listed as not supported. Use a provider method that actually returns applications, after you have read its schema with swy info.
Is one internal Greenhouse account an "active consumer"?
Apideck defines an active consumer as a customer whose connection made at least one call or webhook that month. Your own company can be that one consumer. The Launch minimum on the pricing table is still the 25-consumer, $599 plan, not a single-seat price.
What if search does not find the ATS?
Stop and say the registry does not have it. A prompt that invents greenhouse.applications.update will not run, and it teaches the agent a lie. Bring your own provider on Business or Enterprise, or stay on the unified resources that are marked live.
